Body Control Pilates is very closely based upon the method of body
conditioning and training by the late Joseph Pilates. It is an exercise
method which relies on strengthening deep postural muscles and developing
body alignment. It avoids the muscle and ligament damage sometimes
associated with other fitness regimes.
It is a remarkably effective, medically approved, holistic approach
to exercise which develops awareness of your own body, improves
posture and can help in rehabilitation after injury. Pilates is
particularly safe for those with back problems, and many clients
are recommended to practice Pilates by Osteopaths, Chiropractors
and Physiotherapists.
The method can work for everyone regardless of the fitness level.
Exercises can be MAT or MACHINE WORK.
The primary aim of the Pilates Method is to create a fusion of mind
and body, so that without even having to think, you will move with
more economy, balance and poise, holding yourself straighter and
taller.
